Welcome to St Bartholomew’s!

known as "the Cathedral of the Colne Valley"

We are a friendly group of Christians meeting regularly in this beautiful Parish Church, set in the lovely Pennine village of Marsden.

We would love you to join us in our worship and to take part, with us, in this spiritual journey of exploration of the Christian faith.

We now have a said service of Morning Prayer at 8.30am every Sunday.

'Marsden Remembers'

A village project to commemorate those men of Marsden who sacrificed their lives in World War 1.

This event forms the centre piece of our Heritage Open Days Exhibition from 12 - 14 September, after which our weekly Open Days will draw to a close for this year.

See Events for further details.

Open Gardens 2014

Our Open Gardens event on 3 August raised the magnificent sum of £420 for Church funds.  Many thanks to all our lovely gardeners and wonderful visitors.

The Wednesday Workshop

This weekly event over the summer holiday has been a great success with 20 - 30 youngsters and parents attending and enjoying each session.  We hope that some of our new visitors might come along and play and sing with St Bart's Music Group at our All Age Worship on the first Sunday each month.

We are still supporting THE WELCOME CENTRE at the Methodist Mission in Huddersfield. This is a food bank for families in crisis that are referred to them by frontline professionals.

If you wish to contribute to the food bank's work there is a box at the back of church for your contributions. You can bring items any time the church is open - Sundays (9.45-11.15am), Tuesdays (9.15 -10.15am).

At present they are particular short of Shampoo, Toothpaste, Shower Gel, Tinned Meat Meals, Tinned Fish, Tinned Fruit, Stock Cubes, Fish/Meat Paste, Cereal, Crackers, Jam, Cuppa Soup.   Also - good household items, including tin openers, pans and bedding.

Thank you.
